Message from the Dean

Dear Members, Family, and Friends of the Central Iowa American Guild of Organists,

In reflecting on this past year that has challenged our creativity, resilience, perseverance, teamwork, gratitude and hope, and as we prepare for a new year, I’m reminded of the phoenix, a mythical bird that symbolizes eternity, strength, and renewal, reborn during a journey of challenges. Where would the phoenix be without singing and fire?.. (albeit I imagine the bird occasionally thought "enough already":-)

I hope you’ll join me in being very grateful that we are musicians, we who are able to offer inspiration, beauty, and comfort via our immaterial art form. Let us continue to give with optimism and enthusiasm, considering Obstacles as Creative Opportunities. Let us continue to share presence of our music, and kind thoughtfulness with ourselves and each other.

Happy holidays and looking forward to a New Year!

Dr. Miriam Zach, Dean, Central Iowa American Guild of Organists
